Since I work at a high school and this week is winter break, I’ve been blessed with a week’s vacation.

Vacation, ha!

I’ve done the mammogram, the shopping, doctor’s appointments, visited the mother-in-law, stepmother, shared a few meals with friends, worked on a couple of upcoming workshops.

Vacation from “work”, but not from life.

Every day, it’s been my intention to do something that makes next week easier.   Hence the earlier blog,  clutter1

Tomorrow I clean, the next day I shop for food.  And guess what…I’m not ahead of myself.  There’s more to do.

So with only a few days left, I thought I was making progress…until I just went to basement and spotted about four more things I’d like to get done before I head back to work. And don’t forget about the kitchen cabinets, drawers. Filing would be nice, reading a few more books, catching up on my EFT training.

In the basement a light bulb went off…I’ll never, ever, ever, ever catch up.  How do I know this?  Because I’ve been trying for the last 25 years to catch up and it’s never, ever, ever, ever happened.

So I thought to myself what if I just resigned to the fact that I’ll always have something to do.  I’ll have a to-do list that is full of Nancy’s fancy’s…

I’m trying it on…

I think it’s worth a try…

I sat down and while going through some notes to blog about, I found these great words I had in my notes:

We must stop looking to get rid of the stress in our life – the to-do list, the cranky in-laws, the annoying co-workers, the endless hours at work; and we need to hug it, love it, laugh at it, see it, pick up and hold it.

We need to stop running from it.

Listen to the lessons of the stress.

When we fight stress it actually causes more stress

More stress causes us to be tense and tight and angry…which causes us to make unhealthy choices.

Everything I tell you is new to us…It’s unchartered territory.  But that’s why we are trying it on.  Because the stuff we’ve been doing it’s working anymore.

So I’ll leave you with this questions to mull over…

Have stressors just become part of your routine?

Do you think the more you stress, the better you’ll perform?

Is the dreaded to-do list overwhelming you?

We live in a world that thrives on stress…we live in a world where obesity statistics raise every day…we live in a world that needs to slow down and look at what is causing the stress…

That’s where the magic is…it’s right in the middle of all that stress.

If I can help you look for the magic, call me, but first, put the kettle on and relax with a nice cuppa tea, then I’ll be here waiting…

Always remember it’s about time we return to the heart.
